    Trane and Carrier are considered the best. But cheaper models like Goodman are good too. You might want to get a basic 80% efficiency gas furnace versus a 95% high efficiency.

    The high efficiency ones break down more often because they have more circuit boards – more things to break down. The simpler 80% ones have less to break down.
